All manuscripts accepted for publication in The Lancet Public Health are protected under copyright law. Upon acceptance, authors grant the journal an exclusive license to publish, reproduce, distribute, and display the work in all forms and media worldwide. Authors retain moral rights, including the right to be identified as the work’s creator. For open access articles, content is published under Creative Commons licenses, allowing free access and reuse with proper attribution. Any reuse beyond what is permitted under the license, including commercial use, translation, or adaptation, requires explicit permission from the publisher. This policy ensures the protection of authors’ intellectual property while enabling the broad dissemination of scientific knowledge to the global community.
